Born in Mexico City in 1949. In 1966 the Academy of San Carlos (National School of Plastic Arts, UNAM) and studied painting, drawing and sculpture, with the teachers Cartalla Manuel Herrera, Celia Calderon, Leticia Moreno and several others, among their colleagues were Froylán Ruiz , Rodrigo Pimentel, Andrés Blaisten, Julio Chico, Carlos Pellicer Lopez, Cristina Newman. Was responsible for the management of the company of students of the academy, founded a student newspaper and was always committed to all changes in direction of San Carlos. It was a political activist during the 1968 student movement in Mexico. In 1971 he created the first experimental art studio in an adjoining area to the Academy of San Carlos, a workshop that was active for over three years. Guzman explained in some galleries time: in 1973 his work was present at the inaugural Collective Gallery "Young Painters of Mexico" which also involved Rafael Calzada and Enrique Guzman, among others. In 1977 he exhibited at the Cultural Poliforum Siqueiros, being the director Mrs Marisa Mataix, also exhibited at the Casa de la Cultura de Nuevo Leon. His spare time was occupied in guiding students interested in the arts. Ernesto Guzman carried out substantial work in teaching because he taught art at several schools in Mexico City. Guzman, a man of intellectual capacity unbelievable, dies in Mexico City in the year 1998, leaving a work he considered Abstraction Urbana, very important work in our culture country.
